Kiwanis and JROTC Team Up For Peanut Days
Kiwanians and members of the Monett High School Junior ROTC handed out bags of peanuts last Saturday, October 28th, to help raise money for Children's Miracle Network. Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization that raises funds for children's hospitals, medical research and community awareness of children's health issues. Our thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, with a special thanks to project chairman Randy Henderson!

Christmas Party Provides Lots of Fun for Local Youth!
The annual Kiwanis Christmas Party held December 8th, 7-9pm at United First Methodist Church of Monett, included Pizza, Ice Cream, Bibles and other presents. In addition, Heno Head Jr., former science teacher for Monett HS put on a show with a variety of smoking, gurgling, color-changing chemical reactions, each emphasizing a point about Christmas and the meaning of the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The event, sponsored by your local Kiwanis Chapter, was headed up by Jim Haston with the help of several other Kiwanians and the Monett Key Club. We offer our thanks for the gracious hospitality of the First Methodist Church .

Joplin Fire Chief Speaks at January Evening Meeting
Mitch Randles, chief of the Joplin Missouri Fire Department, was the speaker at the Quarterly Evening Meeting for Monett Kiwanis Club. Chief Randles will be discussed the Tornado that destroyed much of Joplin in 2011 and the response of first responders, citizens and how the city has progressed since then. The meeting, held at Big Baldy's Restaurant, 812 E. Hwy 60, on Thursday, January 12th ran from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. .
